Analysis of “Chasing cars” by Snow Patrol
This is an analysis of the music video “Chasing cars” by Snow Patrol who are an alternative rock band.
Two music videos have been done for this song, one for the UK and one for the US but both of these are very simple.
In the UK video, the lead singer, Gary Lighbody lays around in an open field as the cameraman just films him from different angles. Even when it rains, the singer gets wet and the water splashes on his face and hands and he then enters a pool. He comes out of the water and the video just ends like this zooming away from him.
The US video is pretty much the same but instead of lying down on an open ground; he lies down on the street, on the field and in a tube station. People don’t see him and step over him and he just lies down in every busy place. That’s how simple the video were and on both of these the lead singer was singing along as he walked and lied down.
