This music video is about a girl who has a drinking problem and is an alcoholic. The artist “Chris Daughtry” who is acting as the narrator sings how she had a problem with drinking too much and that this in the long run created problems to those who were close to her and affected and ruined her life. There are a variety of mixed performance and narrative shots used and it cuts into shots and different stages within time with the present where the girl is going to alcoholics meetings and the past scenes which shows the girl and the problems she faced. This used different effects used in most videos such as flashbacks and fast cut montages. There is also a use of colour contrast. The lyrics of the song “I thought I would never get through, I got over you” emphasises the singer is similar to that of the character in the song (her alcohol addiction) This shows that he has problems with his own relationship and that they have a connection through their problems by getting over something even thought the female character in the song and the singer are not related in any way.
